DGC DESIGN-BUILD PROJECT

DGC was GC and designer for the remodel of an existing nondescript post-war bungalow. Completely gutted, this is truly a “reclaimed” home, with all wood from the demo salvaged and reused in the new construction and design. From custom cabinetry and floors, to built-ins and closets, this project is the ultimate upcycle. The new kitchen features a centerpiece entertaining island, Shaker-style cabinets, reclaimed wood shelving, milk tile, and Qortstone counters. After adding a powder room, the master bath was enlarged and modernized into a wetroom. The bedrooms include new custom closets and French doors leading to a mangaris deck. Bookshelf supports, doorstops, cabinet pulls, and master vanity base, were designed by Barton and fabricated by the homeowner—a machinist—which adds masculine industrial flavor.
